| Traditional feasts and festivals Radiating out from Lyons , the surrounding countryside is immense and goes well beyond the banks of the Rhone. It is the living home of traditional feasts and festivals that bear witness to local history. The wine-producing regions like the Beaujolais region of course but also the Lyons region and the Northern part of the Rhone valley honour the delicious beverage with various trade shows, competitions, exhibitions, and fairs . The fruit growing regions of Pilat or Lyons like showing off their delicious fruit. Heir to an agricultural past, the Western part of the Lyons region knows how to bring the past to life with traditional festive days held to the sound of the threshing machine. Less traditional but very convivial are the black-pudding fairs that are held here and there throughout the Rhone region. |
